| Is HaBAS a school? | No, HaBAS is a method of assessing attainment using an internationally recognizable and repeatable formula |
| Can the HaBAS organization make degree awards directly to schools or students? | HaBAS doesn’t make any awards, it sets standards which awarding schools undertake to uphold in making their awards, to enable both Universities and employers to have a reliable guide to the quality and ability of their applicants. |
| Is HaBAS some form of non-governmental private accreditation? | No, it is a rubric for quality and content control. It is equally applicable to both the private and public sectors. Nor is it confined to the scholastic paradigm, as it can measure the effectiveness of organization’s training schemes in all walks of life, including the voluntary services. |
| Why HaBAS? | HaBAS is unique in its international scope, detail and composition. It is the only academic system created specifically for the computer age. |
| What does HaBAS offer the individual student or trainee? | Transparency. Everyone entering a HaBAS licensed program knows what to expect and what is required of both them and the program. This empowers the individual in their decision making process in choosing schools or courses to realize their future goals. Additionally: As HaBAS is publicly self-policing, anyone dissatisfied with their experience can share it and has recourse to the HaBAS Council to discuss problems and solutions. Likewise, please tell us and help your schools by sharing your positive/amusing experiences as well. |
| Why a minimum age of 23? | Firstly for legal reasons, 23 is the legal age of majority in some parts of the world. HaBAS schools are not looking to compete directly with traditional schools for teenage undergrads. Finally as HaBAS emphasizes life experience and independent study, it is unlikely to be applicable to younger candidates. |
